The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet

Act 4 Scene 1: Friar Lawrence's cell

Paris goes over to Friar Laurence's cell to arrange wedding plans for Juliet and himself. Friar Laurence is unhappy that they don't have Juliet's opinion about the marriage and thinks that they are rushing the marriage at the wrong time and shouldn't hold the wedding. Juliet walks in and isn't happy. She asks Paris to leave and to talk to the Friar alone. She feel that there are no options for her and she would rather died. Right before she kills herself with a knife the Friar comes up with a plan to get her and Romeo back together. The plan is that he will give her a vile to "poison" that will only simulate death for forty-two hours. They will put her the family tomb where Romeo will be waiting for her and then they will escape to Mantua.
